ASSESSMENT AND REHABILITATION STUDIES OF THE DRINKING WATER SYSTEMS OF THE TOWN OF SAIDA AND BECHAR
For each drinking water distribution network (Saida and Bechar towns: 400,000 inhabitants, network:
1,000 km):
• Data entry of drawings and existing system Geographical Information System (GIS),
• Diagnosis of existing distribution network and copy writing of bidding document,
• Diagnosis of the existing water supply system,
• Preparation of the master plan for the refurbishment and the extension of the water supply network,
• Supporting the technical and commercial management of the public corporation.
Description of WMI services
1. Studies
a. Diagnosis of existing distribution networks
- Improvement of network zoning
- Network diagnosis: measurement campaign and leak detection programme
- Leak detection program training for local staff (using geophones or ground microphones and occasionally acoustic correlators) on a total length of over 600 km (almost 100% of the supply and distribution networks linear of the two towns studied)
b. Assessment of the technical and customer services management
- Analysis of drinking water network management
- Assistance for the implementation of a leak detection permanent cell
- Elaboration of a software system for leak detection
- GIS updating and network computerised modelling

2. Supply and laying of hydraulic equipment
- 210 zoning valves (Ø from 100 to 300 mm)
