THE HYDRAULICS DIRECTORATE ATTENDS THE 6TH WORLD WATER FORUM IN MARSEILLE
The Hydraulics Directorate at VINCI Construction Grands Projets, and its subsidiaries WMI, Hydroplus, and Via Marina, were in attendance at the 6th World Water Forum. The event, held from March 12 to 17 at Parc Chanot in Marseille, brought together over 35,000 participants representing 173 countries, including 170 official delegations (the far right photo shows representatives from the Sri Lankan delegation). The event, whose theme was “Time for solutions”, also brought together all stakeholders involved in water-related issues, including access to water, sanitation, and the management of water resources with respect to climate change.

The Hydraulics Directorate presented its broad range of unique services, from water captation to filtration and return to the natural environment, including water treatment, storage, transfer, and distibution. It also presented innovative solutions developed by its subsidiaries, WMI, Hydroplus, and Via Marina.

CAMERA INSPECTION OF RAW WATER PIPE
Upon request of the National Water Commission (Water Board of Jamaica), WMI carried out a camera inspection of a 150 meters section of raw water pipe (steel ND525mm) in a tunnel section with an existing risk of collapse.

A six hours operation including water cutting off and installing of the sleeve for insertion of the robot was successfully completed. Digital video was used to recorder the entire operation.

Valuable data reported on the state of the pipe and its lining will enable policy makers to better assess the feasibility of replacing the pipe or tubing.

The French equipment was provided by the company Hydrovideo.
