In the framework of the DeveloPPP program, WMI in collaboration with GIZ carry out a diagnostic of physical losses on a pilot sector of the drinking water network of Yangon city in Thingangyun district (> 100 km). The services include the update of the cadastre of the network and the implementation of an innovative helium gas tracking method for detecting and locating physical leakage considering the intermittent supply of water and the low pressure on the network.
Continuous training of technicians and managers of Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC) is carrying out on the concepts and technologies to detect and reduce physical and commercial losses on the drinking water network of Yangon City.
