Wastewater flow measurement campaign and wastewater analysis

In the framework of ADB funded KSAP project, WMI has been sub-contracted for carrying out a wastewater flow measurement campaign (lot 1) and wastewater analysis (lot 2) on the sewerage system of Koror, Palau.​

Description of the WMI service

Wastewater flow measurement campaign​ (lot 1):

  • Review and assessment of the current sewerage system situation​
  • Definition of the wastewater measurement campaign for the definition of the wastewater flow production of users, definition of infiltration of water (potable water, seawater or rain/storm water) and for the modelling of the system by EGIS​
  • Execution of the flow measurement campaign (39 sewerage pumping stations, 7 manholes, 1 WWTP Inlet) with respect of best practice of health & safety aspects and procedures​
  • Meteorological parameters measurement​
  • Additional activity: evaluation of mud volume on the primary pond of the WWTP​
  • Analysis and interpretation of results regarding the current dysfunctions of the system ​
  • Recommendations of actions​


Wastewater analysis​ (lot 2):

  • Definition of the sampling campaign (sampling period and frequency & sampling sites)​
  • Analysis in situ of the main physical chemical parameters ​
  • Samples sent to a French Laboratory for COD, BOD5, Organic SS, Total suspended solids, Total Nitrogen, NO3, NO2, NH4+, Azote Kjeldahl, Phosphorous, pH​
  • Analysis and interpretation of results regarding the current dysfunctions of the system ​
  • Audit of the existing Laboratory of PPUC​

  • Recommendations of actions​
