Action plan implementation for non-revenue water reduction

WMI and NWC were engaged in a co-management arrangement for the reduction of non-revenue water for the Stony Hill area.

These included all the commercial and technical activities, and monitoring such as house-to-house survey, regularising consumers in several informal settlements, design and installation of meter banks, disconnections/reconnections, account monitoring, DMA monitoring, leak detection and repairs, pressure management of distribution network, maintenance of appurtenances and the calculation of non-revenue water.

WMI provided significant transfer of knowledge and best practice solutions to NWC personnel, including the production and development of databases of requisite tools to foster effective commercial monitoring of customer accounts.
WMI also conducted formal and informal training in the areas of leak repairs on large diameter pipeline, installation of meters, etc.
